Solid fuel boilers made in Russia, review of manufacturers

Today, the production of solid fuel boilers is represented by many companies on the Russian market. It is pleasant to note that domestic manufacturers occupy a confident position, despite fierce competition from foreign market giants, as Russian-made solid fuel boilers are more adapted to the operating conditions in our realities than their imported counterparts.

Solid fuel boilers ZOTA

  • In addition, they can be operated on medium and low quality fuel, which many “foreigners”, spoiled by a high standard of living, simply do not know how to do.
  • Another advantageous aspect of “ours” is the resistance of electronics to power surges, which instantly put imported equipment into a stupor.
  • Affordable price is also of no small importance - a rather powerful argument in the competition.

As for the functional bells and whistles and level of automation, we are still lagging behind, but I would like to hope that this is temporary.

Reviews

Ruslan Sergeev, 45 years old, Krasnodar.

We had the Zota Dymok cauldron. I liked that it was quite small, otherwise our kitchen is tiny. Can accommodate firewood up to 40 centimeters. If you wish, you can install a special heating element; there is an opening for this, but we haven’t installed it yet, so I can’t say anything. The boiler itself heats up quickly, plus it quickly heats the entire house. I liked that there were tiles - you can save a lot on electricity. But firewood burns out very quickly, so in the near future you will have to connect heating elements.

Alexander Zakharchenko, 28 years old, Ufa.

I use “Bourgeois K” to heat a wooden house of 80 m2. The house is warm, it has six radiator batteries plus a two-hundred-liter heat accumulator. Only two downloads per day are enough. After the boiler goes out, the heat remains for another three to four hours.

Anna Ivanova, 30 years old, Astrakhan.

The solid fuel boiler Dobrynya saved us in winter. There are very expensive plots of land in the city, so we built a house in the country. There are all amenities, but there is no gas. Therefore, in winter we have to use coal and firewood.

The old solid fuel boiler failed, so we had to buy a new one. In Astrakhan, only one place sells such boilers, and only Dobrynya. Therefore, we had no choice as such. The size of our house is 150 square meters. We bought model 18 to have some extra.

The firebox is large and roomy. It is suitable for everything - pellets, coal, firewood. There is an excellent pellet bunker on sale, but we didn’t buy it. Pellets are too expensive.

At the bottom of the unit there is a scoop. Ash and ashes are poured into it. Easy to care for - just pull it out and pour it out. You can additionally purchase a draft regulator and heating element - there is a connection option. We didn't do this.

It was promised that the wood would burn for up to eight hours. Ours burns out in half an hour. The coal only burns for an hour, which is very sad. But we don’t fill the entire firebox with firewood – we don’t have enough of it. We use firewood only for lighting coal.

Overall we are very pleased with the performance of the boiler. The house heats up quickly. Our winters are quite warm, so we heat it a couple of times a day, and that’s enough. The house retains heat well. True, it gets cold in the morning. The boiler is easy to use. The boiler heats the water quickly.

Artem Blinov, 40 years old, Kostroma.

We bought a Bourgeois-k T-10A boiler for our country house. In just an hour, it warms up the heating system to 600. Very convenient - load the firebox full and you can be free for half a day. The store recommended buying a sandwich chimney for the boiler, but we refused. This did not affect the power in any way. Even freshly cut firewood was loaded, everything works great.

Ekaterina Severnyuk, 27 years old, Gomel.

We have Zota Master. Good efficiency, but I absolutely don’t like the maintenance. The biggest drawback is that when using strong coal, the gas outlet pipes become clogged after the third fire. At the same time, it is impossible to clean it with the brush recommended by the manufacturer. First we punch it with a rasp, then clean it with an iron brush. I don't advise anyone to buy such nonsense. Even if they give it away for free, don’t take it.

Alexey Litvinov, 20 years old, Poltava.

We use Zota Master 12. Our parents gave us the boiler, so we didn’t have to choose. It is quite compact, so it fits well into our house. There is a hob that we actively use. The kit included three 2 kW heating elements plus a control panel for the heating elements. The cauldron itself is a cheerful blue color.

The depth of the firebox is small - 48 centimeters, so we had to stock up on short firewood. More precisely, cut the long ones in half. The firebox is not voluminous. If you use coals, only one 12-liter bucket will fit. If you shove one and a half buckets, the flue tubes close. You have to add coal through the hob. The largest circle is only 24 cm, so it is very difficult to carefully pour in the coal.

The grate bars do not have a recess, so when the loading door is opened, burning coals tend to spill onto the floor. During use, the inside of the loading door has become bent due to high temperature. There is a thermometer built into the boiler, but the glass on it is cloudy, so it is of no use.

The instructions stated that you need to monitor the pressure and that it should not exceed 0.3 MPa. But for some reason there was no pressure gauge in the device, so we had to install the device ourselves.

The ash pit is small, so after every two buckets of coal burned, you have to clean it. It is inconvenient to take the ash directly into the ash pan; it spills out. Therefore, you have to scoop the ash with a scoop.

Vitaly Nikolaev, 48 years old, Omsk.

We use two Bourgeois-K boilers, T-100 models, to provide heat to two two-story houses. Each of them has twelve apartments. We heat an area of one thousand square meters with wood. meters. We load fuel almost every six to ten hours. We turn on the second boiler only in winter; the rest of the time one is enough.

Maria Pirogova, 47 years old, Stavropol.

We have a Zota Master 20. There is no hob, but there are problems. There is no pressure gauge or draft regulator. Normal-sized logs simply don’t fit in the firebox. Plus, due to the strange design of the heat exchanger, it is impossible to load a full firebox with wood. There is always an abyss of free space left. We heat a small house with an area of only 42 meters. But there is no normal regulator, and setting the desired temperature in the batteries is problematic.

After the firewood is ignited, we completely close the door in the chimney and also close the vent flap. So the temperature in the system is maintained at 65-85 degrees. It is not possible to reduce the temperature below 65 degrees. It is almost impossible to use the boiler without a thermostat.

You can read how the draft regulator works in a solid fuel boiler here.

Device Features

Solid fuel boilers have such functional systems as:

  • temperature control;
  • smoke removal;
  • coolant turnover;
  • firebox

The supplied fuel burns in the firebox. This causes its walls to heat up and transfer high temperature to the water circulating through the water jacket. There are pyrolysis and classic boilers. In classic ones, the fuel simply burns, releasing gas. In pyrolysis, fuel and released gas are burned in different systems. This increases power, efficiency and reduces chimney requirements.

However, pyrolysis equipment is demanding on the level of fuel moisture - no more than 20%. The owner of the boiler must have a supply of firewood at all times, which has been drying for at least a year.

The firebox has double walls. The coolant is poured between these walls. As a rule, water is used. Sometimes water is mixed with antifreeze. Such equipment is most common in central Russia.

After the coolant has heated up, it passes into the heat pipe. The water then passes through the pipes, heating the room, and returns to the boiler. To speed up the circulation of the carrier, special pumps are used. Smoke removal equipment looks like pipes with a heat insulator extending from the boiler to the street. In some models they are equipped with forced ventilation systems.

Water machines require careful attention to temperature. To avoid an accident, you need to make sure that the water does not boil. Fuel combustion can be stopped by reducing the intensity. To protect the system, cooling-type heat exchangers are used. Water is supplied to them directly from the water supply. In case of water supply interruption, you need to have a spare container of cold water. To shut off the flow of overheated water, a special shut-off valve is used.

Energy-dependent technology

Some boiler models are dependent on electricity or during operation use electricity for circulation pumps.

If there are no power outages, it is better to buy volatile equipment, which is much more comfortable to use.

Automatic solid fuel boilers regulate the temperature and intensity of fuel supply themselves. They are more expensive, plus they need to be connected to the mains. But, thanks to automation, they save fuel and time for the owner. This way, heating your home becomes efficient and does not require constant attention.

Design features

The elongated upward shape of the housing saves usable space during installation. The volumetric firebox allows you to load up to 80 kg of fuel. Precise adjustment of the incoming air extends the burning time of one bookmark to 31 hours. The coolant is heated to 70°C and circulates at a pressure of up to 2 bar. On the rear side there are fittings for connecting a chimney with a diameter of 200 mm and heating water 1 ¼”.

Fuel used. The boiler is designed to use dry wood as the main source of energy.

Prometheus

Prometheus is one of the leaders in the production of Russian solid fuel boilers. Customer reviews about the operation of these units are extremely positive. The main type of fuel is coal. Some devices from this manufacturer are equipped with a large loading chamber, thanks to which they can operate for a long time.

The heater is steel, not subject to corrosion. The internal surfaces are lined with refractory bricks, so the heat exchanger will last for a long time.

The boiler power is adjusted automatically by opening or closing the damper. The device is equipped with a mechanical thermostat, so the unit is able to operate in conditions of complete absence of power supply.

Steel solid fuel boiler Prometheus

The power of Prometheus boilers allows them to be used for heating large areas - up to 450 m².

Advantages:

  • efficiency;
  • small size;
  • low price;
  • durability of operation;
  • energy independence.

During the operation of boilers from this manufacturer, the following features stand out:

  1. The heat exchanger is large in area.
  2. Firewood must be loaded manually.
  3. The set includes a scoop and a poker.

TOP-2 pyrolysis solid fuel boilers

Pyrolysis boilers operate on gas obtained by dry distillation as a heat source, heating to temperatures of 600–800 degrees without air access. Dry wood is considered the best fuel for such boilers - it produces the maximum amount of pyrolysis gas. Some models use coal as fuel. The design of such boilers is simple. Two chambers - a loading furnace and a gas combustion furnace. Advantages - requires less human intervention, you can load fuel and clean the firebox less often, high efficiency (up to 90%) Disadvantages - dimensions and high price.

ZOTA Master 18

Boiler with a high level of efficiency (73%) and a hob. You can heat it with coal or wood. It is convenient to monitor the system readings using the built-in pressure gauge and thermometer. The maximum coolant temperature is 95 °C. The maximum pressure in the heating circuit is 3 bar. Heated area - up to 144 m2. Price - 26,300 rubles.

Pros:

  • high efficiency;
  • hob;
  • large heated area;
  • heats up quickly;
  • built-in pressure gauge.

Minuses:

  • smokes when stacking firewood;
  • condensation forms in the chimney sump;
  • small loading firebox.

For its price, this boiler is good for everyone, and side effects such as the need for control and the appearance of children during operation are a problem inherent in all solid fuel boilers.

Burzhuy-K STANDARD-20

Boiler with bottom fuel loading and top-mounted afterburner. There are a lot of negative reviews about it on the Internet. Experts attribute them to improper operation - the use of raw firewood, incorrect installation of the chimney. If the technical instructions are followed, the boiler has an efficiency of 85% and can heat an area of up to 220 m2. Has a built-in pressure gauge and thermometer to monitor the condition of the system.

Pros:

  • fuel economy under conditions of proper installation and operation;
  • large heated area.

Minuses:

  • price;
  • requires correct installation according to instructions;
  • inconvenient to clean;
  • demanding on fuel quality - only dry firewood with a moisture content of less than 12%;
  • build quality;
  • smokes, overheats, and clogs the chimney with tar if installed and used incorrectly.

If you decide to buy such a boiler, it is better to call professionals to install it, who will provide a guarantee to eliminate installation defects if they are identified. Otherwise, you risk getting a lot of problems due to the design features of the device. For beginners, I recommend a regular solid fuel boiler, for example, ZOTA Topol M 14 or more powerful models (for example, “Topol M”) for heating a large area.

Zota

Zota solid fuel boilers are produced in Krasnoyarsk. The products of the Krasnoyarsk plant are familiar to customers with brands such as Dymok and Zota Mix.

  • affordable price.

All of the above advantages of the functioning of Zota boilers characterize the products of this company only on the positive side.

Parameters for choosing a solid fuel boiler

Efficiency

Power is valuable as a parameter only in relation to efficiency, and in this case it fluctuates widely and depends on the type of unit and combustion material.

1. Traditional devices have an efficiency of about 80%,

2. pyrolysis – approximately 90%,

3. long burning – about 85%.

Type of fuel

The type of fuel is of great importance, and it can be very diverse:

1. Coal;

2. Pellets;

3. Briquettes;

4. Firewood;

5. Coke;

6. Peat.

When burning fuel, ash is formed, which needs to be cleaned: from coal - every day; from wood - weekly; from briquette - monthly.

Heat exchangers of products are:

1. Cast iron;

2. Steel;

3. Copper.

Purpose

The devices are:

1. Single-circuit - designed exclusively for a heating system with the ability to connect an indirect heating boiler;

2. Double-circuit - designed for heating and hot water supply.

Electricity dependence

Devices are also divided according to the criterion of dependence on electricity. Models that operate without electronics, are loaded manually, and circulate water without a pump are considered autonomous.
