Buleryan with a water circuit: design features and installation requirements

Here you will learn:

  • Design and operating principle
  • Models with water circuit
  • The operating principle of Buleryan furnaces with a water circuit
  • Disadvantages of Buleryan stoves with water circuits
  • Popular models of Buleryan stoves

Wood heating units are not famous for their highest efficiency. Developers are putting a lot of effort into making stoves more efficient and capable of heating multiple rooms at once. This is how the Buleryan stove with a water circuit was born.

It is a modernized version of the air furnace of the same name, repeating its design. Only instead of air, it heats the coolant circulating through the system.

Buleryan device with a water circuit

The Buleryan wood-burning boiler with a water circuit has a simple and effective design. The equipment is equipped with levers to control the combustion process, a power regulator, a gasifier, and a large combustion chamber. Afterburner injectors are located in the front pipes.

Setting up the stove is easy, it is done using levers, the combustion chamber is sufficient for a large volume of fuel, but it is recommended not to fill it completely. To increase efficiency, ash is also left in the firebox during operation.

Efficiency compared to gas heating

Today, gas heating is undoubtedly the best in terms of cost of operation and ease of use. However, in some ways it still loses to Buleryan:

  1. A gas boiler cannot be connected without the approval of the gas utility.
  2. The operation of a gas boiler depends on the operation of the gas supply system, while Buleryan is completely autonomous.

Gas fuel is poisonous and explosive. Moreover, due to its volatility, it can easily spread throughout the room. Buleryan in this regard does not pose any danger.

Operating principle

General operating principle of the furnace:

  • a manifold is placed on the convection pipes to connect the return and supply;
  • during heating, pressure is created, the liquid can rise to a height of up to eight meters without using a pump;
  • when pressure is created, the coolant flows to the radiators of individual rooms (a slight slope of the pipes is used for natural circulation);
  • From the radiators, cooled water flows to the boiler for heating.

Brick lining

To increase heat distribution in the steam room, as well as to increase the service life of the stove, a specialist is recommended to create a “protective casing”.
It is not difficult to understand how Brenaren is covered with bricks.

Laying must be done in a checkerboard pattern. To do this, the brick must be soaked in advance. After this, it is shaken, freeing it from excess water, and placed on the cement solution, leveling it with a wooden hammer.

When the installation is completed, the brick walls will need to be dried, leaving the mortar to set for several days. After this, the surface can be finished. At the same time, the first fire must be carried out extremely carefully so as not to overheat the furnace and thereby allow the solution to finally thicken.

Advantages and disadvantages

Buleryan has the following advantages:

  • standard radiators are used for heating;
  • the stove can be used for buildings without basements;
  • connection to any heating system is available;
  • the structure is assembled from heat-resistant steel that can withstand negative operating factors;
  • installation of the structure is quick and does not require special knowledge.

Among the disadvantages, it is necessary to note the strict requirements for the arrangement of the chimney and the impossibility of operating the structure without a water jacket.

Principle of operation

The oven operates based on one of the laws of physics. According to him, hot steam rushes up, and cold steam goes down. As a result, even small units equipped with a water jacket can heat about 50 cubic meters of air.

At the same time, Buleryan does not heat up, as a result of which the burnout of oxygen in the room is eliminated. Such a boiler, according to experts, is economical, since its use reduces fuel costs.

This advantage is achieved due to the presence of an afterburning chamber in the furnace design. It burns all the gas generated during the combustion process. The casing in such a unit serves as a heat exchanger. Inside it there are at least 6 pipes adjacent to the ceiling chamber, which ensures better water-based heat transfer.

Popular models

The most popular are Breneran “Aquaten” stoves with a water circuit:

  1. AOTV-06 t00 – suitable for rooms up to 100 cubic meters.
  2. AOTV-11 t01 with a power of 11 kW, which can operate for up to 10 hours on one load of fuel, is suitable for rooms up to 200 cubic meters.
  3. AOTV-14 t02: room volume up to 400 cubic meters, 18 kW.
  4. AOTV-16 t03: room volume up to 600 cubic meters, 27 kW.
  5. AOTV-19 with the highest power of 35 kW and the longest burning time of up to 12 hours without a second load of firewood, is used for heating large rooms up to 1,000 cubic meters.

Relay connection

Before connecting the relay, it is first necessary to select the installation location of the device, for which the following conditions must be taken into account:

  • sunlight must fall on the photo relay;
  • sources of artificial lighting should be located at the greatest distance;
  • the device must be hidden from the illumination of car headlights;
  • The height of the device should allow for minimal routine maintenance work.

Often, if a light sensor is used to connect a street lamp placed on a pole, then the relay is installed near it, but this is very inconvenient. It is much more convenient to place the photo relay on the wall of the house and connect the power cable to the lantern.

Fire safety

For any room where the stove will be located, it is necessary to comply with fire safety standards:

  1. The structure can only be placed on a non-combustible base; steel sheets or a concrete floor are perfect for this.
  2. A sheet of steel must be laid on the floor near the firebox, the length of which must be at least 1.25 m.
  3. The distance from the wall to the stove should not exceed 1 meter for plastered surfaces and 80 cm for surfaces with an insulation layer.
  4. The stove can be installed in a room with excellent ventilation and an area of 12 sq.m. machines for heating elements are installed only in adjacent rooms.

Installation of a smoke removal system

When installing a chimney, the following requirements must be met:

  • materials that are resistant to corrosion, high temperatures, and acids are used;
  • the chimney pipe inside must be perfectly smooth;
  • The layer of the pipe facing the street is insulated with basalt wool, the thickness of which will be at least 50 cm.

All chimneys are installed vertically; the length of the pipe outlet from the stove to the common chimney cannot be more than 1 meter.

Gravity system

When connecting Buleryan with a water jacket to a natural heating circuit, the following recommendations must be observed:

  • The wood-burning stove is placed 50 cm lower than the radiators are installed;
  • pipes are mounted at an angle;
  • an expansion tank is placed at the highest point (usually in the attic);
  • for unheated attics, the installation site of the expansion tank should be insulated;
  • supply pipes require a special safety circuit.

Forced circulation

A Buleryan stove with a water circuit is installed together with an additional pump. The scheme includes:

  • a circulation pump is installed on the return line;
  • Thermal sensors are used for adjustment;
  • the circuit requires a closed expansion tank;
  • To operate the pump, you must install a UPS with a voltage stabilizer.

Pipes for piping

Various pipes are used for Buleryan, but their choice should be taken responsibly, since they have a great influence on performance. Three types of pipes are recommended for piping Buleryan:

  • metal-plastic, corrosion-resistant and easy to install (can be used with forced-air heating systems only for industrial enterprises);
  • polypropylene pipes can be easily installed with your own hands, they are inexpensive, lightweight, and easy to install (allowed for installation in residential buildings);
  • steel pipes can withstand high temperatures for a long time (can be used for any Buleryan, but require a system of greater power than a circuit with plastic pipes).

Reviews

Although this brand cannot boast of a long history, consumers have managed to fully appreciate the merits of its products. First of all, we are attracted by the simplicity of the stove’s design and its maintainability: the entire unit is made of ordinary structural steel, so it can be repaired in any workshop.

The advantages of Buleryan include its safety: carbon monoxide will go into the pipe in any position of the damper, and the body does not heat up above 65 degrees. As users testify, the air in the room really warms up very quickly.

At the same time, it is impossible not to note a significant drawback of Buleryan: due to the fact that it operates in a low-temperature mode, condensation intensively forms in the chimney, which is extremely toxic. Due to its toxicity, it is not even allowed to be poured into the ground near a vegetable garden or garden. To avoid accidental poisoning, they try to place the vertical part of the chimney only on the outside.

If Buleryan is used in a greenhouse with edible plants, it is operated without an economizer and in full combustion mode. In such conditions, the furnace’s service life is exhausted in a couple of seasons (the walls burn out), but no toxic condensate is formed. But in greenhouses and flower beds the stove can be used as intended by the developer, that is, in smoldering mode and with an economizer.

Some users even use condensate to water flowers, after filtering it first. By the way, Buleryan stoves are often called greenhouse stoves.

Did you know that Buleryan stoves were invented by Canadian lumberjacks? We will talk about the pros and cons of such a stove and how to make it yourself later in the article.

Types of coolant for Burelyan

Buleryan with a water circuit for heating a house uses not only pure distilled water, but also special antifreeze, water with antifreeze additives:

  1. Water. This type of coolant is the main one; it is most often used to heat a house throughout the season. Only purified water can be poured; liquid saturated with metals should absolutely not be used. Additionally, a filtration system will be required to prevent clogging of the circuit pipes.
  2. Antifreeze, use of antifreeze additives. This liquid is usually used if the heating is irregular, that is, the stove will turn off periodically. This type of coolant is recommended for use in buildings located in harsh climatic conditions with frequent frosts. But the heating price will be quite high; the volume of liquid for the circuit will be required at 150 liters or more.

Principle of operation

The unit is a hybrid of a conventional stove, boiler and fireplace. The circuit for heating water can be made of separate register pipes located in the firebox or along the walls. Another alternative is that the coolant circulates inside two partitions in the housing; this design is called a “jacket”.

Less often, a water heating tank is placed in the upper part; this is a less effective solution.

Each element is directly connected to the overall space heating system. Due to thermal conductivity, you can warm several rooms at once.

Such devices operate according to the same algorithm, since they are aimed not only at providing housing with heat, but also with hot water supply.

  1. The boiler heats the liquid, which flows through pipes using electric pumps.
  2. The cooled coolant is returned for further heating.

Tips and rules of operation

For the Buleryan heating system, it is necessary to comply with operating conditions, which makes it possible to increase the efficiency of the installation and extend its service life. Comments from numerous stove users show that the most pressing questions are:

  • measures to prevent freezing of the coolant when the heating system is turned off;
  • reasons for low productivity;
  • rules and features of the firebox;
  • Is it possible to install the structure outdoors?

How to prevent the circuit from freezing?

When operating the furnace, care should be taken to ensure that the coolant does not freeze. For this purpose, the boilers have a built-in 1 kW heating element. The system is equipped with a sensor that constantly monitors the coolant temperature and turns on additional heating when it drops to a minimum level.

A method of protection is also the complete drainage of water when the system is turned off. In this case, the pipes and housing will withstand frosts down to -50 degrees.

Why does Buleryan start to heat up poorly?

Why can water boilers not heat a room well? The reasons may be as follows:

  • incorrect installation/connection (insufficient height of the chimney pipe, poor gas outlet);
  • improper installation of the stove with a violation of the height (a distance from the floor of 40-50 cm is allowed, in other cases the performance of the system decreases);
  • the wood-burning stove has too low power (the actual power is 10% lower than that indicated in the documentation, which is due to the peculiarities of the installation);
  • too many connected radiators.

Firebox features

The Buleryan boiler with a water circuit is heated using the smoldering mode; wood chips, firewood, and paper are used for ignition. Intense combustion is observed only in the first half hour, then the stove should switch to normal mode.

Attention: The stove should not operate at its maximum, the thermal conductivity of the body is limited and the heat will go to nowhere. The efficiency of the design during strong acceleration will be extremely low; this is a waste of fuel.

The principle of kindling Bullerjan will be as follows:

  • the gasifier and special regulator open completely;
  • light a fire (it is best to use paper and small wood chips);
  • after the fire ignites, the chamber is filled to 80%;
  • it is necessary to heat until the sensor shows a value of 180-200 degrees (the heating time is no more than 20-30 minutes);
  • then the gasifier must be closed at 45 degrees.

Wood fuel is used for the firebox; logs with a size corresponding to the length of the chamber that are not split into pieces are best suited. The firebox door must close tightly; no gaps are allowed. The ash of the heating furnace is not removed; it remains in the chamber throughout its operation.

Outdoor installation

Is it possible to install Buleryan water boilers outdoors? Theoretically, it is allowed, but in practice it is not recommended, since the presence of a “water” jacket will greatly limit the possibility of the device under such conditions.

How to install Buleryan

The main stages of installing a Buleryan heater

  • When choosing a place to install the stove, the main thing is to ensure free air convection for better heating of the room.
  • The boiler gets very hot during operation, you need to provide a fireproof place for it.
  • Under the boiler and in front of the firebox, it is necessary to place a metal sheet on the floor to prevent fire.
  • It is recommended to install the stove no closer than 30 cm to the wall and with a distance of at least 60 cm from furniture and other objects.
  • if the boiler is located in the corner of the room, then it is advisable to protect the walls with fireproof materials (metal, stone, brick).
  • We put the Buleryan stove 20 cm from the floor for natural air convection, for this we mount a stand.

Chimney device

Types of chimney installation: one of them is classic (or traditional). This installation method is used at the initial stage of building a room. The chimney pipe is located vertically and passes through all ceilings.

Types of chimney devices

This method excludes the horizontal arrangement of any nodes. The second method is used at any time, at any stage of the construction of the premises, even after the construction is completely completed. This method is called coaxial; it works more efficiently than the traditional one, as it ensures high-quality removal of combustion products and is less fire hazardous.

Distributing heat throughout the rooms of the house

For the most effective use of the Buleryan stove, in order to heat not one room, but several or the entire house, corrugated pipes can be connected to the heat exchange pipes coming from the stove.

Corrugated pipes are distributed in rooms

The pipes are routed accordingly through the walls of the premises, if necessary through the ceiling. Decorative grilles are installed in the rooms to receive warm air.

Heat distribution between rooms in a large house

However, it should be taken into account that the air leaving the furnace has a fairly high temperature; when passing pipes through partitions and ceilings, the conditions that are provided for the installation of chimneys must be observed. The photo below shows several wiring options.

Improving the stove design

Buleryan stone finishing

Very often, buleryan is a design element, especially when it comes to a country house or a chalet-style house.

Brick screen for Buleryan stove

But if we are talking about a homemade device, its aesthetic parameters are of course inferior to products made in production.

Buleryan in the interior of a country house

The most successful way of decoration is to use brick or decorative stone.

Buleryan in the interior

To do this, it is not at all necessary to completely cover the stove with bricks; it will be enough to decorate the walls around the boiler or make a background wall-screen behind which the stove itself will be.

Stove "Breneran-Aquaten"

The Breneran-Aquaten stove is an all-welded steel structure coated with heat-resistant paint. The stove is equipped with two damper regulators: on the door and on the chimney pipe. Thanks to injectors that perform the function of “afterburners”, maximum CO2 combustion is achieved.

The Breneran-Aquaten stove operates on all types of solid fuel: wood, cardboard, wood, peat briquettes with a calorific value of no more than 13.8 MJ/kg. To maintain a positive temperature in the system in winter (when it is not possible to ensure the operation of the device using solid fuel), an electric heating element with a power of 1 kW is installed.

Schematic diagram of using the Breneran-Aquaten furnace:

It is prohibited to: - operate the stove without a completely filled water circuit; - heat the stove with flammable or combustible liquids; - use coal, liquid and gaseous fuels as fuel; - use firewood whose length exceeds the size of the firebox; - dry clothes, shoes and other items. on the parts of the stove; - remove soot from the chimney by burning; - remove ash and coals from a stove that has not cooled down; - operate the stove in the kindling mode for more than 20 minutes; - operate the stove with the combustion door open; - operate the stove installed differently from what is specified in this manual. manual; - fill the fire in the firebox with water; - make changes to the design of the stove and use it for other purposes.

If all the instructions and fire safety requirements are met, the warranty on the Breneran-Aquaten stove from the manufacturer is 2.5 years.

The Breneran-Aquaten stove has certificates of compliance with the requirements of the State Standard and fire safety of Russia, as well as a sanitary and epidemiological conclusion on compliance with State rules and regulations and is approved for use in Russian cities.

The stove is good for a summer house or as an addition to a brick stove ↑

I like the stove - it’s scientifically made. It is good, of course, primarily for the dacha, garage or greenhouse. I wouldn’t put one of these in the house, except perhaps next to the brick one as an additional one. In general, it’s a big plus for the inventors of this design.

These are the reviews about the stove, friends. Different, as we see. It’s understandable - nothing is perfect in the world. And if you have something to say about this stove, please send information about your experience.

bullshit your Breneran is aqua. I worked for 2 winters and the back wall burned out. Now the door is burning out. And in 2013 it cost 25,000 rubles. One stack of firewood is enough for 4 hours. ……now we need to hire a welder.

I bought a Breneran stove for a sauna. In operation for 3 years. It warms well, even with a reserve. But there are two big disadvantages. Which turns all the pros into cons. First, the oven gets clogged and needs to be cleaned once every six months. But cleaning it completely is still a problem. Because there are no hatches or doors for this. There is one hole at the top. But through it, there is no way to get under the flame arrester. You need to be very clever, using a system of cables, with a rag tied to the cable, you can clean it, but it is very inconvenient. You will scratch all your hands on the hole in the heater. Second big minus. The flame arrester is made of thin steel. And it burned out after 3 years of operation. Because of this, the fire flies straight into the chimney? Instead of a bathhouse, you heat the street. The main function of the stove to heat the bath is not fulfilled. You can throw it away. In fact, its service life is 3 years. I don't recommend buying.

Excellent OBJECTIVE review based on my own experience! Thanks for this.

A complete show-off about the miracle oven is said in the video. Let him try it at -35 degrees, load it as he claims, and let’s see how long the burning time lasts. And also about the fact that the stove does not need to be cleaned, it is said about the fact that the pipes can burn out, just like the hardest klasters.

I have been using Buleryan stoves for more than 10 years. Condensation can form in the chimney due to cold pipes. It is imperative to insulate the chimney and use “sengwich”. Properly install the chimney, i.e. Be sure to install a tee and ensure the required height of the pipe, taking into account the location of its outlet on the roof and the power of the stove. The required gas-generating mode of the furnace is determined by the position of the damper (gate) at the Beleryan outlet, and this position is not the same and depends on many factors. You can determine this experimentally during operation. It depends primarily on the draft in the pipe. At the beginning of the kindling (after ignition) until the pipes have warmed up, the draft is worse and therefore it is necessary to close the damper by a smaller amount to switch to the gas generator mode than after several hours of operation. Also, weather conditions, thaw or frost also affect these modes, and therefore when operating such a stove, you must carefully analyze the operation and draw appropriate conclusions. Then there will be no condensation or stench in the house. If you correctly follow the instructions for Buleryan, it will last for decades. And to prevent the back wall from burning out, insert a sheet of ordinary steel into it from the inside (I have ordinary tin).
