Electric boiler Galan: technical characteristics and installation

How is heating carried out?

To decide on the choice of heating equipment, you need to clearly understand how a particular boiler works. In Galan units, the coolant is heated by passing electric current through heating elements. In another type of heating equipment, the coolant is heated by heating the heating element itself. It's not exactly economical. As reviews from owners show, contact with the coolant occurs through electrodes connected to the heating elements, which are energized.

In Galan electric boilers, the electrodes change poles about 50 times within a second. These parts are connected to alternating voltage. Thanks to the rapid and alternating change of poles, the coolant ions, which are in a discharged state, begin to move chaotically. In other words, in different directions. Such vibrations are always accompanied by the release of a fairly large amount of energy. This phenomenon causes an increase in temperature. In this case, the participation of a heating element is not necessary.

As reviews show, the ionization chamber is the main element of Galan heating equipment. This is where the base heating takes place. The camera itself is small in size. It is worth noting that when the coolant suddenly heats up, the pressure increases to almost two atmospheres. This allows the heater to perform the functions of not only the main heating, but also a pump.

Operating principle of the Galant electrode boiler

If the Galant electrode electric heating boiler is filled with distilled water, it will not work, since such water is a good dielectric. For an electric current to occur between electrodes with different potentials, the presence of positively and negatively charged particles is necessary. In a metal conductor, this role is played by electrons that have a negative charge. If an ordinary certified salt (NaCL) is dissolved in distilled water, then as a result of dissociation, positively charged Na+ ions and negatively charged CL- ions are formed, and the resulting solution turns into an electrolyte allowing the flow of electric current. As soon as voltage is applied to the electronic heating boiler, the movement of ions begins, releasing heat.

Galant electric boilers are extremely simple in design. One electrode is the housing, which must be grounded, and the second electrode, connected to the phase, is located inside the boiler and isolated from the housing.

Reviews found on the Internet for the Galant electric heating boiler characterize it from different angles. Many people wonder why, given such a simple design, the price of the product is so high. It is noted that the coolant in electrode boilers is energized, so it is necessary to use good grounding of the circuit, batteries and body of the electric boiler. They write that for its normal operation a rather expensive antifreeze liquid is required. Everyone loves the ease of installation and the lack of the need to obtain various permits and approvals.

Electronic boiler "Galan": features

As has been repeatedly noted in this article, you do not need to obtain permission for installation, which is the main feature of the equipment. It is also worth drawing your attention to the fact that a boiler of this type, be it a “Vulcan” or an “Ochag”, is not only a kind of heater, but also a circulation pump. This is a significant cost savings for the user. Electrode heating equipment is extremely precise and operates automatically. The power consumption will depend on what coolant temperature you set. In addition, the equipment independently adapts to the required operating mode. For example, most boilers operate around the clock, but stand in standby mode for about 14 hours. In simple words, the device has a sensor that takes the air temperature and sends it to the control element. If it falls to a certain limit, the boiler starts.

In addition, if desired, you can get climate control for an additional fee. This way you can adjust the room temperature according to a programmed cycle that will contain weeks, days and even hours. If you need the Galan electronic boiler to operate at reduced power in the evening, then this can be set to “smart” equipment without any problems. All this makes boilers from this manufacturer unique in their own way.

DIY installation

Preparation

Algorithm of actions:

  1. Ground.
  2. Protect terminals and live parts from moisture and contact with the surfaces of the unit.
  3. Install a circuit breaker - a switch to cut off the current. A 25 A automatic machine, for example.
  4. Follow the connection diagram recommended in the data sheet.
  5. Observe the connection rule: phase - zero - ground.
  6. Check the tightness of threaded and welded connections.
  7. Minimize, it is better to prevent the possibility of water getting on the body of the ion boiler.
  8. Buy an expansion tank.
  9. Turn off the boiler if ice forms in the heating system and defrost.
  10. Ensure the cleanliness of the pipeline and prevent the penetration of metal shavings and foreign substances into the device and system.

Installation

Sequence of work:

  1. Connect the coarse filter.
  2. After installation, rinse the system thoroughly with Galan inhibitor.
  3. Install the equipment in a vertical position, with the protective cap at the bottom.
  4. Secure the equipment to one of the walls of the room. The connection to the heating system is not decisive.
  5. The unit must be connected to the electrical network by an electrician who has permission to work with electrical equipment up to 1 kW.
  6. Thoroughly strip the ends of the wire of insulation.

Setting the temperature value

Procedure:

  1. Set the coolant outlet temperature within 70-75 ºC.
  2. The input temperature is calculated based on numerous factors: the volume of the heating system, the temperature of the surrounding atmospheric or air space inside the room, the condition and indicator of the thermal insulation protection of the room, the volume of space. On average, this temperature ranges from 40 to 45 ºC.

If the unit is connected correctly, the current parameter reading will be within 23 A. The equipment operates in “automatic” mode during operation. Read sewn in our article.

How Galan boilers work

In reviews, many owners indicate the simplicity of the boiler structure. The main elements of such equipment include:

  1. Tank with heating elements.
  2. Heat exchanger.
  3. Electronic control unit.
  4. Control unit.

As you can see, Galan electrode boilers and their operating principle are practically no different from the traditional one. The coolant is heated in the generator. After this, the coolant passes through the main wiring. Once in the heating radiators, the coolant gives off its heat. As a result, the air in the room heats up. Not only water, but also antifreeze can be used as a coolant in such heating systems.

Reviews from owners show that for more efficient operation of Galan heating equipment, it is better to use the special Argus-Galan composition.

The main advantage of Galan boilers is that they not only heat residential premises, but can also become the main source of hot water supply. Some models of Galan boilers have an external storage boiler, in which water is heated with coolant from the main source.

Optional equipment

In addition to the Galan boiler itself, for more convenient control its owner will need some additional equipment. For example, a control unit of the Galan navigator type, which allows you to quite simply adjust the parameters of the coolant. Or a device such as a control panel, signals to which can be sent using a mobile phone from anywhere in the country.

The Galan heating system, as well as its components, will allow you to minimize your costs and time for servicing the equipment that provides heat in your home.

Types of galan boilers

At the moment, the Galan company has produced several series of heating equipment. Reviews indicate that the products of each model range have their own advantages and disadvantages. The main thing is to choose the right boiler, focusing on the conditions in which the equipment will be operated. This is the only way to avoid many problems.

Model range "Ochag"

Today, several modifications of heating equipment of the “Ochag” series are produced:

  1. Hearth-2.
  2. Hearth-3.
  3. Ochag-5
  4. Ochag-6

Judging by the reviews, electrode boilers of this series have low power. This figure is only 2 - 6 kW. Such models are designed mainly for heating small rooms with a volume of about 80 - 250 cubic meters. The volume of coolant in the heating system can be 20 - 70 liters.

The Galan boilers of the “Ochag” series are also small in size. The length of the product is only 25 - 33.5 centimeters, and the diameter is 35 centimeters. The equipment weighs about a kilogram. Galan boilers of the “Ochag” model range operate from a regular power supply of 220 W.

Model range "Geyser"

This heating equipment is available in only several versions:

  1. Geyser-6.
  2. Geyser-9.

Such heating equipment is designed to heat rooms with an internal volume of 250 - 340 cubic meters. To install a Galan boiler from the Geyser series, a three-phase network with a voltage of 380 W is required. Galan boilers, as written in reviews, with proper thermal insulation, consume only 2.5 - 4 kW per hour. The weight of such heating equipment is about five kilograms. In the heating system, the volume of coolant should be 50 - 200 liters.

Model range "Vulcan"

This is the largest electrode boiler from the entire Galan product range. Such heating devices weigh almost six kilograms and have a power of 25 kW. The boiler from the “Vulcan” series operates only from a three-phase network. The Galan boiler of this modification is capable of heating a room with an internal volume of up to 850 cubic meters.

Electric boilers "Galan" on heating elements

In this group of heating equipment, two types of boilers are produced: new heating boilers “Standard” and “Lux”.

The “Standard ” group has a structure unusual for electric boilers: it is a small cylinder, sealed on both sides, to which the coolant supply and return pipes are welded. They are distinguished by a very low price, high efficiency and decent economy, which requires automation. "Galan" recommends its automation "GAlan-Navigator".

Electric boilers "Galan" on heating elements have an unusual design

Boilers of this group operate in closed heating systems with natural or forced circulation. They have very small sizes and a fairly large set of capacities:

  • Hearth Turbo . There are 7 modifications in this line with power increments of 1.5 kW. Powers from 3 kW to 15 kW, length from 350 mm to 1050 mm, weight from 2.5 kg to 10 kg.
  • Geyser Turbo . There are only two models in this line: 12 kW and 15 kW, 500 mm long, weighing 8 kg.
  • Vulcan Turbo . There are three modifications with powers of 18 kW, 24 kW and 30 kW. The length of boilers in this series is 490mm, weight 10kg.

Boiler bodies are made of AISI 316L stainless steel, which has increased load capacity, long service life and can withstand temperatures up to 1300°C. The boilers produced today are equipped with new heaters and blocks of them, which have smaller dimensions and a longer service life. The boilers have three power levels, which allows you to save energy without sacrificing comfort. Also, the new boilers have less weight and reduced inertia of the boilers. All this allows you to save up to 20% of electricity compared to conventional boilers of similar power.

Characteristics of Galan heating element boilers (click on the picture to enlarge the size)

Three-stage power gradation and more reliable elements do not create excessive load on the network, so many boilers can be powered from a 220V network. All electrical connection data is given in the tables.

There are two lines Lux group of heating element boilers Their appearance is already more familiar: wall-mounted, painted steel casing, control panel on the boiler. Boilers are used only in closed-type heating systems with forced circulation. There is no water treatment for hot water supply, the control is automatic (built-in automation).

Line "Stealth" . Boiler efficiency is 98%. Such indicators were achieved thanks to the use of new type heating elements. When using these boilers, you can achieve decent savings - up to 40-60%. This is facilitated by modern built-in automation, programmable thermostats, which allow, while maintaining a comfortable temperature, to minimize energy consumption. It is possible to connect a remote control that transmits signals via cellular communication.

The Galan Steals heating boiler has a more familiar design

This line includes six modifications of boilers with power from 9 kW to 27 kW. Technical data of the equipment are presented in the table.

The smallest and the largest

"Ochag-03" is considered the smallest heating equipment from the manufacturer in question. Its weight may seem funny to you - only five hundred grams. But despite this, the unit develops a power of 3 kW, and this is enough to heat seventy liters of coolant or a room of 25 square meters. The specific resistance begins to increase with increasing temperature of the medium; over time, the electrode boiler “Galan” “Ochag” develops its maximum power. Over a month of continuous operation, this equipment consumes approximately 500 kW.

The company currently offers its customers two trim levels: “Standard” and “Lux”. The latter, in addition to the boiler itself and the control unit, includes a weekly adjustable climate control program.

As for the most powerful model of heating equipment, this is Vulcan-25. Such equipment is suitable not only for use in an apartment or house, but also for a small boiler room. Unlike the previous option, the nominal voltage is 380V, so you will need a separate power supply. In fact, the electric heating boiler “Galan” “Vulcan-25” can heat a room of 850 cubic meters at a monthly cost of 3,000 kW. The coolant volume for such a boiler must be no less than 150 liters and no more than 300 liters.

Connection diagram and installation of Galant electrode boiler

Before installing an electrode boiler, you need to make a grounding loop, which it is advisable to check for compliance with the requirements of the PUE.
An electric heating boiler consumes significant current, so it is advisable to install a cable of the required cross-section and an appropriate circuit breaker. The owner, as a rule, does not need to calculate anything himself; detailed instructions for connecting and installing the heating device are included in the delivery package. The following diagrams are used for connecting to heating circuits:

  1. standard connection;
  2. parallel connection;
  3. modular connection of the heating unit;
  4. connection of "warm floor".

The most common is standard and parallel connection of electrode heating boilers. You need to start installation by choosing the location of the unit. The problem of which boiler to buy for heating your home can be solved very simply. The boiler's power must provide heating for the home.

The boiler power is selected at the rate of 1 kW per 10 m2 of room area.

For example, you need an electric boiler to heat a house of 30 square meters, therefore, its power must be at least 3 kW, but if you need to heat a room of 90 -100 m2, then the power value required is at least 9 kW. The price for a 9 kW electric boiler will be higher than for a 3 kW boiler. If you plan to install a “warm floor” in your house, then you need a boiler for heating and hot water. This may be an electrode boiler, but its power must be sufficient for heating and for heating water in the “warm floor” circuit. In such cases, the heating system pipelines are connected through a manifold and an additional circulation pump is used. Preparing the coolant and starting the Galan boiler

Galan heating boilers require a special coolant; they do not work with ordinary water, since its resistance is not strong enough. To increase resistance, table salt is added to the water. For 100 liters of distilled water you need 5-8 mg of salt (the edge of a teaspoon). The salt is diluted in a small amount of water and poured into the general circuit.

Then the circulation pump is turned on, which will mix the coolant until it has a homogeneous structure. You can check the correct preparation of the coolant using current clamps. The readings must coincide with the table values indicated in the boiler passport. If the voltage is too high, you need to make the water less salty; if the voltage is not enough, you can add more salt. There is no need to rush into making changes, as the system will fully stabilize only after three days.

In addition to salted distilled water, non-freezing liquid produced by the boiler manufacturer Galan can be used as a coolant. This is a specially designed coolant that does not freeze down to -40 degrees.

The issue of heating is acute for any buildings and premises. Many devices are used for these purposes, but electric boilers and systems still have undeniable advantages. The Galan electric boiler is an excellent assistant in this matter. The Russian company was founded more than 25 years ago, and initially produced only electrode heaters. Now heating elements have also been added to the range.

Operating principle and technical characteristics

Heating element devices, as many people know, heat water through the use of heating elements, either one or several. And electrode ones work by passing electric current discharges through the coolant.

Electrode boilers

Galan heating boilers are created using modern technologies, and this allows them to have sufficiently high power with compact dimensions. To improve the quality of its products, Galan is constantly improving it, so here are approximate technical specifications:

  • the area of the heated room is from 80 to 1650 cubic meters;
  • rated power consumption - from 2 to 50 kW;
  • rated voltage - 220 and 380 volts;
  • coolant volume - from 20 to 500 liters;
  • Both special liquids and water can be used as a coolant;
  • 1 class of protection against electric shock.

The coolant for heating elements can be ordinary water, or a special Argus-Galan liquid.

Low-freezing coolant

Of course, ordinary water is convenient because it is cheap, very accessible, environmentally friendly and has very good thermophysical properties. But, at the same time, the use of water implies the possibility of corrosion of working elements and regular repairs, the likely need to monitor the properties of water and its replacement.

The manufacturer recommends low-freezing liquid Argus-Galan as a coolant. It is designed specifically for use with these heaters and taking into account the technical features. Does not freeze at temperatures down to -40°C, does not lead to corrosion of metal elements and scale on the electrodes, and reduces start-up and heating time.

For electrode options, ordinary water is not suitable - the electrical resistance will not be enough, but there will be an excess of impurities that can clog the system. During the first 3-4 years, the device completely fails. For them, it is better to use a special liquid, or specially prepared distilled water.

How to properly prepare water for coolant

If you prefer to choose water, then it needs to be prepared accordingly. Ordinary tap water is not suitable for electrode devices, only distilled water. To measure resistance you need to take an ammeter.

Water electrical conductivity correction table

  1. When starting, the starting current is measured with an ammeter, and the readings are checked against the table (it is presented in the installation and operation manual).
  2. If the results do not correspond to the required ones, and the current is less than the calculated one, add a salt-containing solution - 1 tsp. salt per 100 liters in one stage.
  3. If the calculated values are exceeded, only pure distilled water is used, which will allow the specific resistance of the liquid to be adjusted. This is the most important indicator for the high-quality operation of the electrodes.

About installation in detail

Today there are four types of connections that are actively used:

  • parallel;
  • standard;
  • floor heating;
  • modular.

The most popular are parallel and standard connections. Let's look at how to connect the boiler this way.

The first step is to decide on a suitable location. Next, using a comb, we connect the main device, which is necessary to distribute water or antifreeze through the radiators. The latter have special taps that can be used to regulate the amount of coolant passing through.

Please note that the Galan boiler diagram of any model involves the installation of a system for bleeding excess air from the system. This will help keep the equipment in good condition and prevent its premature breakdown. At the final stage, the boiler will be connected to the network.

Do you want to connect the boiler to the underfloor heating system? Do the following. Connect air exhaust devices to the heated floor. Install sensors that monitor temperature and pressure. Then install the controllers in the niche and connect the device to the network. Remember that you need to carry out installation only when you have experience in carrying out such work; in other cases, it is better to involve specialists, since you are dealing with electricity. Failure to follow basic safety rules can result in injury and even death due to electrical shock.

Installation and connection of the unit

Before installing an electric boiler, it is necessary to select the most suitable location for this and create a grounding loop. It is desirable that it meets the requirements of the PUE. Electric heating equipment consumes considerable current, so it is recommended to use a cable and a circuit breaker of appropriate cross-section.

The delivery package for Galant heating systems includes step-by-step instructions for installing and connecting the boilers to the power supply.
Therefore, the consumer does not have to independently calculate any parameters. Options for connecting an electrical appliance to heating circuits:

  • standard;
  • parallel;
  • modular;
  • to the "warm floor" system.

Most owners of electric boilers use a standard or parallel connection scheme.

The electric boiler model must be selected according to its power, which will be sufficient for efficient heating of an apartment or your own home. To heat a room of 10 square meters. the unit must have a power of 1 kW. Accordingly, if the total area of a private house is 70−80 sq. m, you need to buy an electric boiler with a power of 7 kW or more. The greater the power of the heating unit, the more expensive it will be.

If you plan to install a “warm floor” system in an apartment or private house, then you will need an electric boiler for heating and hot water supply of sufficient power. In such a case, you will additionally need a circulation pump, and the heating system pipelines will be connected to the collector.

Advantages and disadvantages of Galan boilers

We emphasize that you should buy heating equipment only after familiarizing yourself with the full list of pros and cons of such devices. If we talk specifically about products, then first of all it is worth noting the significant energy savings. The fact is that electrode equipment allows you to set the minimum temperature when people are not in the house. This approach solves two problems at once: firstly, electricity is saved, and secondly, a normal temperature is maintained in the home. This can be achieved with the help of thermostats, which are located in each heated room. Periodically, sensors take readings and analyze information. Another important point is that there is no need to install a chimney and prepare fuel, as is the case with coal. Among other things, connecting the Galan boiler can be done without the participation of specialists, and dirt and dust do not accumulate in such a device.

As for the shortcomings, then, of course, they exist. The main disadvantage is that the equipment is extremely sensitive to voltage changes, in particular to power surges, which can damage both the protection and the equipment. This problem is solved by installing a stabilizer.

Another drawback is that some models require high-quality coolant. This can be distilled water or antifreeze. Now let’s take a closer look at how to properly install such boilers.

Requirements for heating systems

To operate efficiently, the heating system must meet the following requirements:

  • Electrode boilers are installed only in closed two-pipe systems with a membrane tank (tank volume is calculated as 1x10).
  • The boiler is positioned vertically, its upper edge is no higher than the level of the batteries.
  • Piping parameters: riser and boiler block pipe diameter 32mm (1″/1/4);
  • line – 25mm;
  • connections to radiators – 20mm.
  • To increase ionization, it is recommended to install a metal pipe (not galvanized) of the same diameter as the boiler outlet pipe for the first 120 cm in the supply from the boiler. It is also advisable to place this segment vertically.
  • The total power of the radiators should be 5-7% less than the boiler power.
  • Grounding is required.
  • Correctly position climate control devices.
  • A safety group is required at the top point of the system (burst valve, pressure gauge and air release valve).
  • Recommended radiators: bimetallic, Euro-standard cast iron (made in Turkey and the Czech Republic), aluminum (made from primary aluminum). When using registers, it is necessary to comply with the displacement of the system, as well as the use of Mayevsky taps and radiator valves.

  • Electrical diagram for connecting the Galan boiler (click on the picture to enlarge the picture)
    As you can see, the requirements for installing Galan electrode boilers are quite realistic, there is nothing prohibitive, and most importantly, you can do everything yourself.

    A little about the price of equipment

    As noted above, there are various Galan heating boilers. Today the company sells units of the “Ochag”, “Geyser” and “Vulcan” model series with a capacity of 3, 5, 9, 15 and 25 kW.

    Small-sized models are suitable for rooms with a small area, and the most powerful boilers can heat large spaces. The price of units varies depending on their efficiency. Electrode models will cost a minimum of three and a half thousand rubles, and a maximum of fifteen thousand. Please note that there are different configurations available. For example, the basic one comes with only a boiler and automation, while the more expensive one also has climate control.

    Particular attention should be paid to the fact that today cases of fraud have become more frequent. For this reason, it is worth carefully checking the quality of the product. By the way, in addition to the ideal technical condition of the device, its passport must also be in perfect order. If the company has a license and positive reviews, which is important, then you can safely make a purchase. Finally, do not forget to clarify the specifics of the procedure for returning the boiler if it turns out to be of poor quality or defective. And don't be fooled by the low price. Buy only original Galan electric heating boilers. Reviews from owners of such equipment will tell you where to look for a quality product.

    Full glazing of the veranda

    If you don’t have the necessary tools at your dacha or in a private house, and you simply don’t have the funds to buy expensive wooden blocks, then there is only one way out - solid window frames.

    In order to create such a masterpiece, you need to prepare:

    • Planks of wood from which the structure will have to be made. Small blocks of 50/50 mm are best suited. They must be cut in the required quantity, after which they are fastened to the frame, which is also made independently.
    • It is recommended to fasten the glass to the frame using silicone sealant, but if this is not available, then you can do it the old fashioned way with glazing beads.
    • The final stage is processing the joints with platbands.

    New heating elements units

    The heating elements of this type of boiler are made of high quality stainless steel. There may be several or one. The kit also includes electronic or electromechanical control (to choose from). Models of units “Ochag”, “Geyser”, “Vulcan” are suitable for working with single-phase and three-phase networks.

    Installation of the product is significantly simplified by connecting the terminal box to the power wires and connecting the ground. The weight of the product, depending on the model, ranges from 3 to 10 kg. By analogy with electrode devices, this type of heat generator is suitable exclusively for closed heating systems.

    Improved version

    Manufacturers have divided a more advanced version of heating element devices for large houses and industrial premises into two series: “Stealth” and “Galax”. In both cases, the electric heating device has the shape of a rectangular cabinet that is suspended from the wall. The first (budget) version is limited only to the basic elements (a tank with heating elements and an automatic control unit).

    The luxury version (“Galax”) is additionally equipped with a circulation pump, coolant flow controller, safety valve, pressure gauge and air vent. All this stuffing allows this unit to successfully compete with imported equipment.

    Scope of application

    Heating with Galan boilers of this type can be carried out in private and multi-apartment residential buildings. The units are suitable for connection to a “warm floor” system. They work great where a multi-liter heating circuit is involved, and also interact perfectly with the air heater.

    They are also used to heat roofs and drainpipes, open areas and steps from which it is necessary to remove snow or ice.

    Equipment operating parameters

    The manufacturer of electric boilers Galant constantly improves its own technologies and modernizes equipment. Manufactured products for heating residential areas are small in size and effectively cope with their functions. For their production, only high-quality materials that are resistant to corrosion are used.

    Electronic boiler Galant technical characteristics:

    • voltage - 220/380 V (50 Hz);
    • power depending on the product model - from 2 to 25 kW;
    • electric current for different models - from 9.2 to 37 A;
    • heated area - from 20 to 250 sq. m.;
    • specific resistance when using water as a coolant - from 3 to 32 kOhm/cm2, temperature 150ºС;
    • The coolant recommended by the manufacturer is a special liquid “Argus-Galan”.

    The delivery package of the Galant electronic boiler additionally includes electronic and mechanical regulators. The cost of products depends on their configuration and power.

    Main models of Galan boilers

    Electrode boilers from the Galan Ochag line are the best choice for heating private houses with an area of up to 60 sq.m.

    Electrode boilers from the GALAN OCHAG model range include models with a power of 2, 3, 5 and 6 kW. They are minimal in size and do not clutter up the room. All models are single-circuit and are designed for installation in a vertical position. Power is supplied from single-phase networks. If you connect models with a power of 5-6 kW to the network, you need to connect a separate wire to the equipment and equip it with an RCD. GALAN OCHAG boilers are suitable for heating rooms with an area of 20-60 square meters. m. is an excellent option for a private home.

    The GALAN Geyser line includes two electric boilers with a power of 9 and 15 kW. They can be used to heat any type of premises with an area from 90 to 150 square meters. m. To power the equipment, a connection to a three-phase electrical network is required. Control is carried out from external consoles. Installation is carried out exclusively in a vertical position.

    Do you need to create a heating system in a large building? Then you need to take a closer look at the GALAN Vulcan line of electrode boilers - it includes models with a power of 25, 36 and 50 kW. All presented devices are powered by three-phase electrical networks. The maximum heated area for these models ranges from 250 to 500 square meters. m, depending on the power of the equipment used.

    Connection and operation instructions

    To maintain the required temperature conditions, the manufacturer offers to supplement the equipment set with automation equipment. The simplest regulator (MRT-15) is assembled using electronic and mechanical components. It performs its functions using the operational data of two sensors (supply and return lines).

    Other blocks:

    • “Navigator Basic” series - control of heating elements with a total power of up to 30 kW;
    • “Lux” - this universal unit can be used to connect electrode and classic “heating element” heating boilers;
    • “Comfort” is a programmable timer that determines the temporary work schedule for up to 7 days;
    • “GSM Comfort” - using this electronic unit, you can quickly configure operating modes via cellular communication channels.

    To correctly select the appropriate Galan electrode boiler model, you do not need to recalculate square meters with high accuracy. As a rule, specialists use a simplified proportion - 1 kW for every 10 square meters. area. The table shows the manufacturer's recommendations. In practice, indicators are adjusted taking into account:

    • thermal insulation parameters of the house;
    • operating mode;
    • average temperatures in the region;
    • personal preferences.

    Installation work is carried out in accordance with the current PUE rules and other industry standards. Compliance with current fire safety requirements is mandatory.

    Note! If you lack personal knowledge and skills, you should seek help from experienced specialists.

    • grounding is established in advance with a mandatory final check of the circuit resistance (4 Ohms or less, cross-sectional area of the copper conductor - 5 sq. mm);
    • the Galan boiler is mounted in a vertical position;
    • the terminal group is protected by a special casing;
    • at least meters of the exit section of the transport highway are created from metal pipes;
    • radiators are placed above the heating elements;
    • leave a technological gap to the floor surface for repair and maintenance of electrodes;
    • Shut-off valves are not installed before the expansion tank

    Control, measuring, and other automation devices are connected according to the manufacturer’s instructions. To maintain a long service life of the electronics, the temperature and relative humidity conditions specified in the accompanying documentation are maintained in the room.

    Disadvantages and advantages of Galan boilers

    As reviews show, Galan boilers have certain advantages and, of course, disadvantages. Such equipment is manufactured in accordance with innovative technologies. However, thanks to its design capabilities, such heating equipment has a clear advantage over conventional heating element boilers. In their reviews, owners highlight the following advantages:

    1. No additional costs when installing the unit. The exception in this case is the purchase of the boiler itself.
    2. Installation of such heating equipment is cheaper than installation of units operating on liquid fuel.
    3. Galan boilers, reviews of which are mostly positive, do not require regular cleaning and maintenance.
    4. During operation, heating equipment does not emit any toxic substances. Boilers of this brand are not only environmentally friendly, but also safe to use.
    5. The installation of a heating system does not require the installation of a chimney.
    6. Galan devices are lightweight and small in size. Installing such heating equipment can significantly save space. In addition, the arrangement of the heating system does not require a separate room for the boiler.
    7. Easy to install. You can install the unit yourself.
    8. Fire safety.

    Of course, any heating equipment has its drawbacks. In their reviews, the owners highlight several “cons”:

    1. The high cost of electricity consumed by the unit.
    2. It is impossible to use the Galan unit for arranging beds in a greenhouse or underfloor heating systems. In addition, such equipment cannot be used to heat a swimming pool.
    3. When installing heating equipment with a power of more than 10 kW, approval is required from Energonadzor.

    Consumer Reviews

    It is imperative to touch upon such an important point as the responses of buyers of electronic boilers. For the most part, users are satisfied with them. Many people write about real savings. In addition, you can find a large number of positive reviews online about the service. In addition to the fast delivery, I am pleased with the friendliness of the company’s employees. But this is where the fun begins. There are many reviews about real savings with Galan boilers of the Geyser, Ochag, etc. lines. Users manage to achieve a significant reduction in energy costs. A device with a power of 15 kW is enough to heat a two-story house. Agree, this is the best solution, for example, for a summer house where there is no possibility of connecting a gas main.

    And gas does not always look favorably against the background of electrode equipment. The heating boiler has a high heating rate. Many people also write that it always makes sense to connect an electrode boiler as a backup. If there are problems with gas, it can become the main source of heat. However, there are other reviews.

    Galan boilers are very sensitive to voltage changes, so you will need a powerful rectifier or an additional generator, which will keep the boiler operating in the event of a power outage. Many users pay attention to this point, as it is quite important.

    About the benefits

    Before talking about the advantages of an electrode boiler as a heating system at home, it should be noted that this option is only possible if there is reliable electrical wiring and a stable network condition. When frequent power outages and sudden voltage drops occur, it makes no sense to install such equipment, since the unit will not be able to function normally.

    But even here you can find a way out if you promptly purchase a diesel generator or a UPS - an uninterruptible power supply. It accumulates a certain amount of electricity, and it can be enough for several hours of operation of the electrode boiler in the event of an accident. Some UPS models can regulate voltage using a built-in stabilizer.

    In addition, in small suburban villages there is a certain quota for electricity consumption by a private home. Otherwise, special permission will be required, provided that this issue is resolved from the technical side.

    If the described problems do not concern the owner, he will be able to appreciate all the advantages of an electrode boiler:

    • High level of security. The equipment is designed in such a way that there is no possibility of electric current leakage, which means sparking and other similar phenomena. During operation, the occurrence of a dangerous fire situation is practically impossible, which allows the unit to be used to maintain a minimum temperature without outside supervision.
    • Compact dimensions and the ability to be integrated into a heating network running on gas. As a result, the electrode boiler comes into operation when the gas supply stops.
    • Fast heating of the heating system, silent operation of the unit and the ability to replace heating elements without changing the entire device.
    • Installation in residential premises is possible without installing a boiler room or chimney. In addition, installation of the unit is very simple and can be done by hand.
    • High efficiency - up to 96% during operation, and when heating, about 40% of electricity is saved. There is absolutely no contamination - soot, fumes, ash or smoke.

    Features of installation of electrical equipment of the Galan brand

    It is noteworthy that you can perform the installation manually. This will not only save on installation costs, but also gain valuable experience. As noted above, installation is not that complicated, but does require basic electrical knowledge.

    We have already decided that we do not need to obtain permission, however, we will need to make grounding that complies with GOST. This is due to the fact that the Galan boiler, the connection diagram of which must include grounding, is powered from a 220/380 V mains voltage. For a person, a blow of such power will certainly be fatal. In addition to grounding, it is recommended to do grounding.

    The installation process itself is not much different from installing other heating equipment. It is worth noting that it is very difficult to install a thermostat yourself. Its calibration must be carried out by specialists. If you buy a “Galan” (a heating boiler with a climate control sensor), it is better to entrust the installation to professionals. This is due to the fact that if the controller is calibrated incorrectly, the room will be either hot or cold.

    We must not forget that the Galan boiler, the connection diagram of which is shown below (in the photo), operates exclusively on water or antifreeze. If you use a different liquid, the equipment will quickly fail and the case will not be covered under warranty. Well, now let's look at a few more interesting points.

    Drain system design

    When installing a roof drain for a small building, it would be appropriate to use a gutter up to 110 mm in size and a pipe up to 75 mm in diameter. If the roof area is large, then the gutter and pipe are required larger -130 mm and 100 mm, respectively. For buildings with a large roof area, you will need a gutter 200 mm in diameter and a pipe 150 mm in size. The length of the gutter directly affects the downspout - if its length exceeds 8 m, then two downspouts will need to be installed.

    To install drains with your own hands, you will need certain materials and tools:

    • pipes and gutters;
    • connection elements;
    • gutter plug;
    • rubber seals;
    • funnels for receiving water;
    • glue and sealants;
    • hacksaw or grinder.

    It is important to pay attention to some nuances before making roof drains with your own hands. The gutter should be attached to the roof and wall at an angle relative to the drain pipe, which will ensure efficient drainage of water. You need to carefully study the instructions included with the purchased kit, which should contain a detailed installation diagram
